4. Subscriptions & Payments
Subscription Management:
All subscriptions are processed through Apple In-App Purchases
Pricing and billing details are clearly displayed before purchase
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
Cancellation & Refunds:
You can cancel your subscription anytime through your Apple ID account settings
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
Refund requests are subject to Apple's refund policies
We do not control Apple's payment or refund processes
Free Trials:
If a free trial is offered, you will be charged when the trial period ends unless you cancel before then
Trial eligibility may be limited to new subscribers only
5. Intellectual Property
All content, software, AI outputs, design elements, and branding within the App are owned by or licensed to Nala.

1.2 Face Scan & Skin DataNala allows you to take facial photos in-app to analyze your skin's cosmetic appearance. This section explains exactly how that data is handled.What face data is collected:Facial photos taken within the app (front-facing camera, in-session only)
Derived cosmetic skin indicators: texture, tone, redness, hydration appearance, and visible blemishes
No biometric identifiers, facial geometry, or identity-matching data is extracted
How face data is used:
Solely for AI-powered cosmetic skin appearance analysis within the app
To generate a personal skin score and track your progress over time
Never used for identity verification, facial recognition, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to your skincare tracking
We do not sell face scan data
Third-party sharing:
Facial photos are sent to OpenAI's API solely to generate your skin analysis. OpenAI processes the image and returns descriptive text — no face data is shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any other parties.
Storage:
Face scan images are stored securely in Supabase Storage (cloud infrastructure), linked only to your user account and protected by access controls. Images are not publicly accessible.
Retention:
Face scan data is retained while your account is active, or until you request deletion. Upon account deletion, face scan images and all associated analysis results are permanently removed. You can request deletion at any time through App settings or by emailing[email protected]

Nala uses OpenAI's API (GPT-4 Vision) to analyze facial photos and generate skincare-related insights.
What is sent to OpenAI:A temporary signed URL to your face scan image (valid for 5 minutes) for skin analysis
Your first name and skin profile data (skin type, age range, primary concerns) to personalise recommendations
Check-in data (mood, notes, skin condition scores) to generate daily personalised insights
Chat messages when using the AI skincare assistant
Your email address and user ID are never sent to OpenAI
What OpenAI does with the data:Processes the image to return a text-based skin analysis
OpenAI's data usage policies (openai.com/policies) apply to data processed through their API

6. Third-Party Services
To operate the App, we rely on trusted third-party providers. Your data may be processed by:
